About U Care

Serving Sampson County With Compassion and Trust

Proudly supporting survivors and families in Sampson County since 1993, with a mission grounded in care, dignity, and real local impact.

Built to Fill a Vital Need—A Legacy of Support Since 1993

In 1993, U Care, Inc. was created to address a gap no other organization was meeting: safe, confidential help for those experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault in Sampson County. Back then, survivors in Clinton, Roseboro, and across the region had nowhere to turn for emergency shelter or free, nonjudgmental support. U Care’s founders recognized that families needed a place to rebuild in safety—so they built a program grounded in compassion, respect, and the realities of our local community. Today, decades later, that legacy continues: consistent support, accessible services, and a reputation for reliability that spans more than 30 years.

U Care’s mission is to support and empower victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sampson County, guiding every person on their path to safety, healing, and independence.

Proudly Rooted in the Sampson County Community

U Care serves people throughout Clinton, Roseboro, Garland, Newton Grove, and surrounding areas, ensuring that help is never far away. Our team works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, hospitals, churches, and the Chamber of Commerce to create a stronger safety net for survivors. Community events—like the Clinton awareness initiative and local vigils—bring together residents, partners, and supporters to drive awareness and positive change. By collaborating with local organizations and listening to those we serve, U Care remains a trusted leader in Sampson County’s response to domestic and sexual violence.
